Buck Teeth Treatment in Seoul
Buck teeth are upper front teeth that stick out ahead of the lower teeth. Our Gangnam orthodontic department corrects them by moving teeth back, not by covering them.

How are buck teeth fixed?
Buck teeth, meaning upper front teeth that stick out with increased overjet, are usually fixed with orthodontics that moves them back into line. Fixed braces or self-ligating braces suit most cases; clear aligners suit selected milder ones. At Gangnam One Day Dental Clinic, Dr. Kim Do-hoon leads treatment, which typically takes 12 to 30 months, followed by retainers.

What causes buck teeth
Buck teeth usually mean increased overjet: the upper front teeth sit further forward than the lower ones. Causes include tooth inclination, crowding, spacing, jaw growth patterns, and childhood habits such as thumb sucking or tongue thrusting.
Sometimes the upper teeth also overlap the lower teeth too deeply. That vertical problem is covered on our overbite treatment page.
Treatment options
The goal is to move the upper teeth back and align the bite, which needs space. If there are gaps, the teeth can be pulled back into them. If not, space may come from extractions or other planned methods.
Veneers can change the shape of front teeth but cannot move them back. For genuinely forward-positioned teeth, orthodontics is the treatment that addresses the cause.
- Metal braces: high control for larger corrections
- Clippy-C braces: self-ligating brackets, no elastic ties
- Clear aligners: for selected mild to moderate cases
- Surgical orthodontics: when a jaw mismatch is the main cause

In growing children, early orthodontic treatment can guide jaw growth and reduce the risk of front tooth injury. Our clinic also provides children's orthodontics.
Adults are treated by moving the teeth within the existing jaws, with surgery discussed only where the skeletal difference is large. If your concern is the whole mouth pushing forward rather than a few teeth, see protruding front teeth.
