Can I get dental veneers in Seoul during a short trip?

Often, yes. At Gangnam One Day Dental Clinic, veneers are designed and milled in the in-house Oneday Lab, so suitable cases can move from scan to bonded veneers in one day or a few visits. Most visitors should plan several days in Seoul. The dentist confirms timing after reviewing your photos and examining your teeth and bite.

Your veneer options in Gangnam

Veneers are thin, tooth-coloured shells bonded to the front of the teeth to change colour, shape and proportion. Materials, thickness and lifespan of each type are compared further down this page.

This page is for patients planning treatment in Seoul. The clinic offers conventional (prep) laminates, no-prep veneers for suitable teeth, and one-day veneers when the case allows. Named options such as Smile Privé, Smile X and Smile Film are also available and are explained on their own pages.

  • Prep veneers: a thin layer of enamel, usually about 0.3–0.7 mm, is reshaped for a natural contour
  • No-prep or minimal-prep veneers: little or no enamel removed, only when teeth are well positioned
  • One-day veneers: design, milling and bonding on the same day in selected cases
  • Composite veneers: tooth-coloured resin, quicker and lower cost, but shorter-lived

The main types of veneers

Porcelain and ceramic veneers are made in a dental lab from a digital scan or impression. They resist staining, reflect light like enamel and are the usual choice for lasting changes in colour and shape.

Minimal-prep and no-prep veneers are very thin ceramics that need little or no enamel reshaping. They suit teeth that are well aligned and not already large. Composite veneers are built up directly from tooth-coloured resin in one visit; they cost less but stain and chip more easily.

  • Porcelain / ceramic: strongest colour stability, made in a lab
  • Minimal-prep / no-prep: conservative, but only for suitable teeth
  • Composite resin: quick and repairable, shorter lifespan

What veneers can and cannot fix

Veneers work well for discolouration that whitening cannot lift, minor chips or worn edges, small gaps, and teeth that are irregular or out of proportion. They change the visible front surface, not the root position or the bite.

Crowded, rotated or protruding teeth may need orthodontics first. Heavily filled or broken teeth may need crowns instead, because a veneer needs healthy enamel to bond to.

Why the in-house lab matters for visiting patients

Gangnam One Day Dental Clinic has run its own laboratory, Oneday Lab, since 2022, on the 14th floor of the Startplex building at 438 Gangnam-daero. Digital scans go straight to CAD/CAM milling, so temporary to final restorations can be made in one day instead of waiting for an outside lab.

Shade and shape are planned with Digital Smile Design, which the clinic has used since 2015, and adjustments can be made while you are still in the chair. The bite can be checked with T-Scan Novus digital occlusion analysis, which helps protect thin ceramics from uneven forces.

Planning your trip and getting an estimate

Things to know before you decide

  • Prep veneers are not reversible: once enamel is reshaped, the teeth will always need a covering.
  • Active decay, gum disease or heavy grinding must be addressed first and may add visits or days.
  • Severely crowded or protruding teeth may be better treated with orthodontics before or instead of veneers.
  • Veneers can chip or debond over time and may need repair or replacement years later.
  • Not every case can be finished in one day; complex designs may need extra appointments.

FAQ

Dental Veneers Seoul: common questions

How many days should I stay in Seoul for veneers?
Most veneer patients typically plan 3–7 days. Simple cases may be finished in one day because the clinic has its own lab, but extra time allows for try-ins, adjustments and any treatment needed first. The dentist gives a more precise plan after reviewing your photos and examining you.
How much do veneers cost in Seoul?
Cost depends on the number of teeth, the material, how much preparation is needed and the complexity of the design. Gangnam One Day Dental Clinic gives an estimate after reviewing your photos and X-rays on WhatsApp, and the final price is confirmed after the in-person examination.
Do I need to remove enamel for veneers?
Not always. Conventional veneers usually need about 0.3–0.7 mm of enamel reshaped. No-prep or minimal-prep veneers may need little or none, but only when the teeth are well positioned and not too large. The dentist decides after examining tooth position, enamel and bite.
What happens if a veneer has a problem after I go home?
Small chips can often be repaired by a local dentist, and a debonded veneer can usually be re-cemented if it is intact. Keep your treatment records, and message the clinic on WhatsApp with photos so the team can advise on next steps.
Can I choose the colour and shape of my veneers?
Yes, within what looks natural and suits your bite. Shade, length and shape are planned with Digital Smile Design and shown before bonding. Very bright shades are possible, but the dentist will explain how they may look against your remaining natural teeth.
Which languages can I use?
You can communicate in English, Chinese, Japanese or Korean. All inquiries, photo reviews and appointment planning are handled through WhatsApp at +82-10-5298-2875; the clinic does not take inquiries by phone call or web form. Send photos and questions in whichever of these languages suits you.
Do veneers hurt?
Most patients feel little discomfort. When enamel is prepared, a local anaesthetic is usually used. Mild sensitivity or gum tenderness for a few days afterwards is common and usually settles on its own. No-prep veneers often need no anaesthetic at all.
How long do veneers last?
Porcelain and ceramic veneers typically last 10–15 years or more with good care. Composite veneers usually last 4–8 years and may need polishing or repair sooner. Grinding, biting hard objects and gum health all affect lifespan.
Are veneers better than whitening?
They solve different problems. Whitening lightens your natural teeth without changing shape. Veneers change colour, shape and proportion together and also cover stains that whitening cannot lift. Many patients whiten first so untreated teeth match the veneers.
How do I look after veneers?
Brush twice daily with a non-abrasive toothpaste, clean between teeth, and keep regular check-ups and cleanings. Avoid biting pens, ice or opening packages with your teeth. If you grind at night, wear the night guard your dentist recommends.
