How do I choose a cosmetic dentist near me?
Choose a cosmetic dentist on evidence, not adverts: ask to preview your result with a digital design or mock-up, ask who makes the veneers or crowns and where, check that your bite and gums are assessed first, and get a written plan. Seven criteria for choosing a cosmetic dentist
Searching 'near me' gives you a list of clinics nearby, but it does not tell you how they plan and make cosmetic work. Veneers and crowns are long-term decisions; a clinic 20 minutes further away with a clear process is usually the better choice. Use these criteria to compare clinics on facts you can check.
Ask each clinic the same questions and compare the answers in writing. A good cosmetic consultation explains what is possible, what is not, and why, including the option of doing less.
- Planning: can you see a digital design or in-mouth mock-up before any tooth is prepared?
- Conservative options: are whitening, bonding or no-prep veneers discussed before heavier preparation?
- Lab: is the lab in-house or outsourced, and how many visits does that add?
- Bite: is your bite analysed, not just the appearance of the teeth?
- Gum and tooth health: are decay and gum disease treated first?
- Team: is there access to periodontists, orthodontists and prosthodontists if the case needs it?
- Communication and aftercare: can you discuss the plan in your language, and what happens if a veneer chips?
Questions to ask at your consultation
Ask how much tooth structure will be removed, if any, and whether a no-prep veneer or composite bonding could achieve a similar result. Ask to see the planned shape before treatment, and what happens if you do not like the trial.
Ask what material will be used, how long it typically lasts, and how the bite will be checked. Ask for the cost to be broken down per tooth and for what is included, such as temporaries, adjustments and follow-up visits.

We are in Yeoksam-dong, Gangnam-gu, on and around Gangnam-daero, with three buildings and 13 dentists across five departments: oral surgery, periodontics, prosthodontics, orthodontics and integrated dentistry. The clinic was founded in May 2002.
Cosmetic cases are planned in our Digital Smile Design centre, in use since 2015. Restorations are made in Oneday Lab, our in-house lab opened in 2022, where temporary to final prosthetics can be made in one day when the case allows. Bites are checked with T-Scan Novus digital occlusion analysis. Consultations are available in English, Chinese, Japanese and Korean, and all inquiries go through WhatsApp.
