What are MegaGen dental implants?
MegaGen implants are titanium tooth-root replacements made by the Korean company MegaGen. They are placed in the jawbone and restored with an abutment and crown. Gangnam One Day Dental Clinic places MegaGen implants for single, multiple and full-mouth cases, choosing the fixture design after a 3D CT scan of your bone.

When your surgeon may choose MegaGen
We place two Korean implant systems: MegaGen and OSSTEM. Both are reliable titanium systems. The choice depends on your bone density, the space available and the restoration planned, and is made after your 3D CT scan.
MegaGen offers fixture designs intended to achieve firm initial stability in different bone types. Initial stability is what makes immediate (same-day) loading possible, so it matters for patients hoping to leave with a temporary tooth.
- Single missing tooth replacement
- Several missing teeth supporting a bridge
- Full-arch and full-mouth reconstruction
- Sites with softer or limited bone, often combined with grafting
Full-mouth cases and surgery time
For patients missing many teeth, multiple implants can be placed in one session under IV sleep sedation. Our published cases include 3 implants in 20 minutes, 8 implants in 35–40 minutes and 15 implants in about 1 hour. Difficulty varies, so your own surgery time is estimated after the CT review.
About 60% of our implant patients travel from outside Seoul, so we plan surgery and lab work to reduce the number of trips. For fixed full-arch options see full-mouth reconstruction; if bone is thin, see bone grafting.

An implant has no natural shock absorber, so an uneven bite can overload it. Chief Director Dr. Kim Jin-hwan wrote the chapter "Controlling the Occlusion of Implant-Supported Restorations" in the Handbook of Research on T-Scan Technology Applications in Dental Medicine. We check every implant crown with T-Scan Novus digital occlusion analysis.
Crowns are designed and milled in our in-house Oneday Lab.

Things to know before you decide
- Smoking and uncontrolled diabetes increase the risk of implant failure.
- Severe bone loss may need a graft or sinus lift and a longer healing period.
- Clenching or grinding can overload implants; a night guard may be advised.
- Implants need daily cleaning and regular check-ups to prevent peri-implantitis.
