Can I get a dental crown in one day in Seoul?

Often, yes. Gangnam One Day Dental Clinic scans the prepared tooth, designs the crown by CAD/CAM and mills it in its in-house Oneday Lab, so many zirconia and all-ceramic crowns are fitted the same day. Teeth needing root canal treatment or gum healing first may need extra visits; the dentist confirms after examination.

When a crown is the right choice

A crown covers the whole visible part of a tooth to protect and restore it. It is usually advised when a filling would be too large to hold, after root canal treatment, or to support a dental bridge.

Choosing a crown material

Zirconia is very strong and suits back teeth and people who grind. All-ceramic(such as lithium disilicate) gives the most natural translucency for front teeth. Porcelain-fused-to-metal and full metal crowns are older options still used in some situations.

For front teeth where only the surface needs changing, veneers may remove less tooth; see veneers.

How one-day crowns work here

Our in-house Oneday Lab, on the 14th floor of the Startplex building, has CAD/CAM milling and 14 years of lab know-how behind it. The tooth is prepared and scanned, the crown designed and milled, then stained, glazed and fitted, all without a physical impression or a lab courier.

Our prosthodontists, Yoo Young-hoon and Kim Kang-min, lead crown design, and the final bite can be checked with T-Scan Novus digital occlusion analysis.

Dental Crowns: common questions

How long does a dental crown last?
Crowns typically last 10–15 years and often longer. Lifespan depends on the material, your bite, grinding habits and how well you clean around the crown edge. Decay at the margin is the most common reason a crown needs replacing.
Zirconia or ceramic: which is better?
Zirconia is stronger and suits back teeth and implant crowns. All-ceramic looks more natural on front teeth. Many patients have zirconia at the back and ceramic at the front. Your dentist recommends the material after checking your bite.
Does getting a crown hurt?
The tooth is numbed with local anaesthesia, so you feel pressure rather than pain. Afterwards, mild sensitivity or gum soreness for a few days is normal. Persistent pain should be checked, as the nerve may need treatment.
How much does a dental crown cost in Seoul?
Cost depends on crown material, tooth location and complexity, such as whether a post or root canal is needed. Send a photo or X-ray on WhatsApp for an estimate range; the final price is confirmed after examination.
Can you replace an old crown?
Yes. Old crowns are replaced when they chip, leak, show a dark metal margin or have decay underneath. We remove the old crown, treat the tooth, and in suitable cases fit a new zirconia or ceramic crown the same day.
