What should I do in a dental emergency in Seoul?
Control pain and bleeding first, keep any broken or knocked-out tooth moist in milk, then message Gangnam One Day Dental Clinic on WhatsApp at +82-10-5298-2875 with photos and your symptoms. The team replies in English, Chinese, Japanese or Korean and arranges an examination. For facial swelling with fever, difficulty breathing or swallowing, go to a hospital emergency room.

First aid before you reach the clinic
The first 30–60 minutes matter most for a knocked-out adult tooth. Pick it up by the crown, not the root. If it is dirty, rinse briefly with milk or saline without scrubbing. If you can, push it gently back into the socket and bite on a cloth; otherwise keep it in milk or inside your cheek. Do not let it dry out.
For a broken tooth, save any fragments in milk and rinse with warm water. For a lost crown, keep the crown and avoid chewing on that side. For toothache, take standard over-the-counter pain relief as directed and avoid placing aspirin on the gum.
- Knocked-out tooth: store in milk, seek care as quickly as possible
- Bleeding: bite on gauze or a clean cloth for 20 minutes
- Swelling: cold pack on the outside of the face, 15 minutes on, 15 off
- Broken tooth: keep fragments, avoid hot and cold food
- Lost crown or filling: keep the piece, do not glue it with household glue
How to contact the clinic in an emergency
Inquiries, including urgent ones, are handled by WhatsApp at +82-10-5298-2875. Send clear photos of the area, describe the pain (constant, throbbing, only when biting), say when it started and mention any medication or allergies. This lets the team judge urgency and prepare before you arrive.
Appointment availability depends on the day's schedule; the team will tell you the earliest time they can examine you. If you are a visitor, also see care for international patients.
Not sure if this is right for you? Send a photo or X-ray — a dentist replies on WhatsApp in English, Chinese or Japanese.

The first goal is to stop pain and infection and protect the tooth. Depending on the cause, that may mean opening and cleaning an infected nerve as the first stage of root canal treatment, splinting a loosened tooth, bonding a broken edge or re-cementing a crown.
If the tooth cannot be saved, an extraction may be needed, and the replacement is planned afterwards. The clinic's in-house Oneday Lab can make temporary teeth and some prosthetics within a day when clinically appropriate, which can help visitors with limited time.

Things to know before you decide
- Facial swelling that spreads, affects the eye or makes breathing or swallowing difficult needs a hospital emergency room, not a dental clinic.
- Head injury, loss of consciousness or a suspected jaw fracture should be assessed at a hospital first.
- Pain relief at the first visit is not the end of treatment; an infected tooth usually needs further visits.
- A knocked-out tooth has the best chance of survival when replanted quickly; delays reduce success.
- Antibiotics alone do not cure a tooth infection; the source must be treated.
